This week we will continue to train the new SLA's and do some refresher training on returning SLA's. Please take a look at the task chart on the white board each day. When you finish your daily tasks, you may clean shelves and shelf-read, or we may assign you a special task. Please do not assume that you may read or do homework, but it may be possible occasionally.
For all SLA's, we will complete the quarterly contract and discuss setting your individual goals.
For new SLA's we will work on circulation training. We will focus on the skills of:
checking in
checking out
renewing
processing holds.

4. How to check in a book:
First make sure it is okay for them to have it. Make sure they have no overdue books, fines, etc. If it alright for them to have it, fill out a green slip and pt it in the book. If they can't have the book, do the same above but fill out a pink slip.

As the week went on, Ms. Merrigan helped me improve my alphabetical skills by making me put a whole cart of mixed-up book in order. Then, I shelved books for more practice.
