Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope you had a great time and are ready for the final spring push.
Can you believe we are in the last week of third quarter? This week we will be reading your assigned shelves and meeting with you for your quarter end evaluation. During your evaluation meeting we will discuss your quarter goals, your performance and achievements, your grade and report card comments, and your goals for 4th quarter. To prepare, please write about the following in the comments section of this blog:
1. Look back at your goals from the beginning of the quarter (on blog). What were they? Did you achieve them? Describe.
2. Reflect on your achievements this quarter. Write about your performance in these three areas: (a) Patron assistance (b) Library organization/administration (c) Information literacy skills. You might include stories about specific times when you really shone in these areas.
3. Look forward to your goals and plans for next quarter. The focus will be teaching others through handbook, technology, mentoring your SLA and library skills. What ideas do you have for 4th quarter goals?
This quarter I did very good at accomplishing my goals. I am now able to find books kids ask for most of the time. I now know how to do double sided copies and all the different types of copies. And I did one window display this quarter.
ReplyDeleteThis quarter I have done very well being a Library T.A. I am very good at5 assisting patrons and helping them meet there needs. I keep the front desk in order and under control while helping patrons and make sure everything that needs to be done gets done.In the information literacy skills part of this quarter I feel like I have really strived, I am learning new things about the library each week and hope to continue.
This quarter accomplished all my goals. I am now able to find the books that kids ask for, most of the time. I now know how to do double sided copies and all the different types of copies. And I have completed one window display this quarter.

My goals for this quarter were to work on window displays, recommendations and using technology. I have got better using the circulation system and helping patrons. My literary skills this quarter have improved, I feel like I have learned many new things about the library and know how things work. I will work this quarter more with technology, shelving and the circulation desk.
ReplyDeleteI feel like i have greatly improved in my knowledge of the library. Some of myu goals that i hava accomplished this quarter are that i now know how to shelve books, use the circulation desk and i had fun. Some things i still need to work on are that i need to want to shelve non-fiction books, do at least one window display andunderstand more about how to put magazines away. I feel like i have helped patrons in the most effecient way poissible, the library i feel has been kept clean, and i think that i have actully learned alot through the blog assignments.

My goals for the quarter were to learn how to repair books, make copies, and use the circulation desk to help patrons. I haven't learned how to repair books yet, but I don't think there have been that many chances to get to try that. I now can use the copy machine very well and I work the circulation desk like a pro! I have made 2 window displays with Kylie, and I think I learned a lot about the Dewey Decimal System through the sla blog. I think this quarter would like to learn more technology skills.
ReplyDeleteMy goals for the quarter were to learn how to run the circulation desk, keep my shelves organized, and to be able to help everyone who comes into the library. I think I pretty much accomplished these goals. I know how to run the circulation desk, my shelves are organized, and I think that I could help almost anyone who needs it in the library. In patron services I think I did a good job. I was polite and helpful to everyone who came in this quarter. In library organization and administration I think a did a good job also. I helped keep the library organized and I did everything I could to help out.I think that I got the most out of the Dewey decimal system assignments. I had had an idea about it before, but now it is clear in my mind. I can find books easily, as well as help patrons find books easily.For fourth quarter goals I think I might like to try and be able to do things that will help new SLA's learn how to do certain things, I might also like to try just learning more overall about the library and how it works.
ReplyDeleteMy goals for last quarter were to learn about the circulation desk so I could help people, make window displays because they're fun to make and inform people about the kinds of books we have, and help the library be a happy place. I now know how to run the circulation desk, and I've made a few window displays, and I believe I helped to make the library a happy place by smiling and being nice and just having a good attitude. For Patron Services, I think i did well. I was nice and polite to everyone who came in, and I did my best to help them with whatever they needed. For Library Organization I know I did well. Whenever I had spare time I clean the tables and windows and dusted.I think that I did okay at Info Lit, and now I understand some websites better and I understand book organization better as well. During fourth quarter i would like to learn more about using the technology we have to help others in the library, and I would like to just learn more about the library in general.

I accomplished two out of three goals, I don't think I'll be able to read all the Mustang Must Reads, I haven't had much time to read them between school stuff, home stuff, and reading EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE ENTIRE LIBRARY!!!:) For this quarter I would like to learn to do a window display, I would also like to read at least three more of the MMRs.

Taylor: i got some of my goals done, but I'm still thinking about my goals for this quarter.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much acomplished my goals for the quarter. I helped the new library assistants when they needed it, and i promoted the library by showing it was a happy place that you could relax in. BUt, i should of took more care of just MY shelves.
ReplyDeleteIn patron assistance i think i did pretty well. I was kind to all the customers and gave each on a smile. For library organization, i could have done a little better because my shelves were pretty dirty. I also had 2 of the most used shelves, biographies and graphic novels, meaning they got out of order really easily. Also for information literacy skills, i think i did pretty good. I know a lot about the library but am always learning more.
For fourth quarter, i KNOW one of my goals will be to take batter care of my shelves. That is a really important thing to do, and i could have done better on that this quarter.
