End of Quarter reflection

As Quarter 3 comes to a close, reflect back on your learning and involvement in the library. In a comment below, please address the following:

1. In what area do you think you made the most growth? Explain.
2. In what area would you like to focus your learning next quarter? Explain.
3. What was your favorite part of being an SLA? Least favorite?
4. What ideas do you have for your work as a student library assistant and/or the library program that we might consider?

We will sit down to do your quarter-end evaluation on Friday.

Future events:
1. Barnes and Noble Book Fair, April 30. I would like all SLA's to attend and help with the book fair on Saturday, April 30, from 1:00-2:00. ASB and SLA students will be helping with a storytime and craft project. Please talk to your parents and get that on the calendar. Let me know if you will or will not be able to attend.
2. 8th graders, you are required to attend Data & Desserts at CHS library on Thursday, May 26, in the evening (7-ish). Please get this on your calendar now.

Quarter 4! Summer is nigh.

  1. I think I improved the most in working on the computer and other technology. I think I need to get better at shelving . I think the best part is all of the fun you have when working there! My least favorite part has to be shelf reading. I think what might be fun is to have someone look up on the computer and find things that are happening in the world so we can tell people about it.

  2. I think that I made the most growth in the area of technology. I was able to figure things out without help because I used common sense. I would like to focus my learning on reading shelves more. My favorite part of being an sla is getting to know everyone and knowing the library more. I also like to put books away. My least favorite part of being an sla is to read shelves. I think we should do top ten books of the week display.

  3. I think I made the most growth in technology because I am now I able to sign in with ease. I would like to focus my learning towards shelf reading. My favorite part about being a SLA is getting to know and help more people. I think my least favorite part was cleaning tables all the time. I think we should have a shelf/area where some good recommendations are.

  4. I think that this quarter I learn that I need to stay focused on my job when I am doing it. I realized that I also have to really scrub The tables so that i do not leave blue spots behind and then I have to clean it again later

  5. I improved the most of shelving books this quarter. I am almost up to the point where Ms. Merrigan and Ms. Trumm don't have to check the books afterwards. I would like to check in/ out books more often next quarter because I haven't had that much practice. My least favorite was shelving biographies and my most favorite was shelving the blue dots because it was only located in two shelves so things were easy to find. I think the library could do with signs at both the entrances of the library that says sign in because most people don't remember.

  6. I improved most in shelving the books that were checked in. I need one more week to make sure that my book shelving is 100% accurate frequently. Also, I like to still work on my book shelving accuracy, just for lots more practice next quarter. Checking-in and out books more next quarter would be nice for more practice in that area. Other than that i'm pretty comfortable in those places. My favorite part of being in the library was learning new subjects that i've never tried before, such as shelving books. My least favorite part was, well, I didn't have a least favorit part.I think that a visible sign in the library that says the rules in the library would be helpful. (If we don't already have one.)
