Ms. Merrigan's post

The last book I read was The Fifth Witness by Michael Connelly.  It's a courtroom drama set in Los Angeles.  I have read many of Connelly's books and enjoy the suspense.  The best book that I have ever read may be Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen or One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.  Sometimes you read a book and the language, characters, feel stick with you and change how you approach future books.  Both of the books are like that for me.

I am really looking forward to working with all of you.  Having eight SLA's means that we have time for more special projects and specialization.  You will be able to set learning and project goals and be able to do more than just shelving.  Thanks for being a part of our library!

  1. What was One Hundred Years of Solitude about? It sounds interesting.

  2. One Hundred Years of Solitude is a magical book about a family living in rural South America (Colombia, I think). It jumps around in the story of different generations. The father founded the town, but some of the later generations disgrace themselves or drift away. I loved the character of Esperanza most of all.

  3. Is this book similar to "Book of a Thousand Days"? The title makes it seem that way? :)
