Madelines Quarter One Review

My goals for this quarter were:

•work on shelving Dewey Decimal stuff

•improve my people skills, in terms of helping patrons

•know the layout of the library and where all the books go

I have gotten a strong understanding of the Dewey system, and i don't screw up the order when the numbers get all specific (e.g. 601.6650). I actually find Dewey shelving easier than fiction shelving, because numbers are easier for me to think about, I guess.

I wouldn't say I have achieved this goal. I have been helping more people in the library, but I'm somewhat of a social misfit, so I think I better work on this goal in second quarter as well.

I know the layout of the library very well now, and shelving books is not a challenge. Though I haven't shelved books in the office, and I would like to be doing that more often

Goals for Next Quarter:

• keep improving my ability to help patrons

•be able to shelve books in the office bit of the library

• CONSISTENTLY put the little date stamp thingy in the back of the book! (I often forget when I am checking out a book to myself)
